The only surprise is the location of the diocese. One expects such post-modern syncretism in coastal urban cities, but upstate MI? And Bp. Duncan is the one deposed....
There's a lot to admire about Buddhism. Ultimately, it and Christianity cannot be reconciled. Perhaps the new bishop sees Jesus as an enlightened person who "emptied" himself--There's just enough commonality between the 2 religions to cause confusion.
But Buddhism is still a works-centered religion that rejects Christ's sacrifice.
